Otter (Lutra lutra) (004)

Otter (Lutra lutra) (004) - Mammals

Also known as the Eurasian otter these can be very difficult to see as on our rivers as they mainly venture out at night. Shots taken in the day are more likely around the Scottish West Coast or the Islands of Mull and Skye. Now I will confess! These images are of captive otters at the Chestnut Centre in derbyshire (link in the links page). I will be writing an article for the web site shortly explaining more about getting good pictures of captive animals but for the moment please enjoy these images.
